A major part of Lori's work is portraits by commission. The patterns and shapes in a face, head and figure are compelling and wonderful to capture.

Lori also enjoys landscapes and still life in which she is concerned with the juxtaposition of patterns and colours: The movement in the lie of a landscape or the random arrangement of objects left on a table.

Maria's work has been described a "eclectic exciting and dynamic". Her surprising mix of texture, colour and media shows through in her many works. From her tiered hillscapes in translucent, sunset pastels inspired by the mountains, hills and seas of Nelson and her hometown Taranaki to the subtle eyeless horses caught up in the Australian bushfires.
